Carolyn Isabel Linton

6/11/2015

Carolyn Isabel (Miller) Linton, a lifelong resident of Warwick, passed away on June 11, 2015 at St. Anthony Community Hospital.

Born on April 25, 1923 in Edenville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Elizabeth (Eurich) Miller.

She was married to Stanley Linton.

Carolyn graduated from Warwick High School and attended business school in NYC.  She worked in various positions in NYC and later as an Administrative Secretary at the Warwick Conference Center.

Carolyn was the devoted wife to Stanley for 68 ½ years, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose great joy in life was spending time with her family.  She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She never traveled without her Bible, reading it every day and memorizing Scripture. The Word of God was her source of strength and guidance throughout her entire life.

She had many hobbies, was an avid walker and enjoyed many hiking adventures.  She enjoyed travelling, especially her cross country driving adventures with her husband, and visiting their children and families.  She enjoyed meeting people and always had a kind, encouraging, and inspirational word to all she met.   She was a ray of sunshine to everyone.

Her family would like to extend a special thank-you to the doctors and staff at Horizon Medical, Warwick, and the staff at St Anthony Hospital for their compassionate, professional care throughout the past years and for making her final days dignified and peaceful.  She will be greatly missed by her family, but we know she is in the comforting arms of her Lord and Savior.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Stanley of Warwick;  her children:  Suzanne Linton Caputo and her husband Michael of Latham, NY, Stanley Linton, Jr. and his wife Terese of Westtown, Sally Linton Sopalsky and her husband John of Goshen; her grandchildren:  Jenna Laboda of Saratoga, NY, Jessica Porter of Boston, MA, Christine Sopalsky of Somerville, MA, and Tara Kosinda of Alpharetta, , GA; two great-grandchildren:  Liliana and Abigail;  her sisters:  Emma Dunne of Airmont, NY and Harriett Anthony of Greenville, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and her devoted friend, Lorraine Linton.  She was predeceased by sisters Helen Stocken, Marguerite Bass, Viola Leeper, Dorothy Van Etten and Louise Walls.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 14th,  from 2:00-5:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Monday at Warwick Reformed Church.  Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
