Vera Sue Bossolina

Vera Sue Bossolina, our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at 3:15am on November 12th, 2015 at the age of 84, after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Vera was born on March 19th, 1931 and raised in Greenville, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lily Smith.

She then married Charles Joseph Bossolina and created a large and loving family of 6 children. She cared for and raised her children right and by doing so was able to see them go off and create families of their own. She produced 10 grandchildren who she loved very much. Vera was a wonderful woman. She was loving, intelligent, caring, strong and tough. She had brightened all of the lives of anyone she had come in contact with in one way or another through her charm and kindness. Even at her worst, during her battle with Alzheimer's, she would always find the good in a bad situation and never once stopped joking around to lighten the mood for everyone. That is one of many things that she has taught us and something we will never forget to keep in our hearts. Vera was such a positive person that we know she would not want any of us to mourn her passing, rather celebrate the life she had with her wonderful family and friends she had around her.

Vera leaves behind six children: Michael Bossolina, Linda Mastandrea, Joanne Bossolina, Robin Bennett, Nancy Muscarelle and Charlie Bossolina along with their husbands and wives. ten grand children: Michael Bossolina Jr, Robert Bossolina, Greg Normington, Steven Normington, Dana Arluna, Charles Arluna, Bill Mastandrea, Emma Muscarelle, Joseph Muscarelle and Danielle Bossolina; and one great-grandson, Robert Bossolina Jr. She was predeceased by her sister Viva Smith.

Visitation will be on Monday November 16^th, from 6:00-9:00 pm, at Lazear-Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
