Madalene (Sandra) Blanton, of Warwick, passed away on February 7, 2016 at Calvary Hospital. Bronx. She was 73 years old.
Born on October 2, 1942 in Baltimore MD, she was the daughter of the late Sussannie (Summie) Lee Mc Brayer
She was married June 8th 1962 to Eugene Blanton (53 years)
She was employed by Warwick Telephone Company as a Telephone Operator, before retiring after 34 years of service. She graduated Chester High School in 1962.
A family statement reads “She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her passions included shopping, cooking and having a good time.”
She is survived by her husband, Eugene of Warwick; her son, Eric Blanton and his wife Mandy of Warwick; her grandchildren: Skyler, Sierra, Reece and Payton Blanton, and Daryl and Kyle De Groat; and a great-grandchild, Aaliyah De Groat. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Tonya Gail De Groat.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 11th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday at Warwick United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Warwick Community and all those who helped in so many ways over these last sixteen years while Sandra was battling cancer.
