Lillian Mazzella

Lillian Mazzella, of Greenwood Lake, passed away on June 14, 2016 at St. Anthony Community Hospital.  She was 80  years old.

Born on January 15, 1936 in Blue Jay, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Teresa (Vitale) Conte.

She was married to the late Dennis Mazzella (2013).

Lillian retired in 1998 as a high school Matron at Alfred E. Smith High School in the Bronx.  A devoted Catholic, she was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, and formerly a member of Our Lady of Pity, Bronx.  A great cook, she loved spending time with her family.  Lillian was a great fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Rangers.

She is survived by her children:   Mary Ann Morgan and her husband Wayne of Macon, GA, Candida Vaughn and her husband Roberto of Cortlandt Manor, NY, and Mary Jo Ben-Nun and her husband Roni of Greenwood Lake; her grandchildren:   Robert, Denise, Katie, Claire and Sofia; great-grandchildren:  Theo and Calliope; and a brother, Joseph Conte of Jeffersonville, NY.  She was predeceased by sisters Candida De Luca and Clara Del Prete and a brother Giro Conte.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 16th,  from 3:00-5:00 pm & 7:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday at Holy Rosary Church. Greenwood Lake, followed by entombment in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
