Mary Ellen Harrington

Mary Ellen Harrington, of Warwick, NY, passed away at home surrounded by her family on June 26, 2016.  She was 81 years old.

Born on March 15, 1935 in Montour County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Irene (Derr) Schultz.

She was married to the late Dr. John Harrington (2001).

Mary Ellen was a retired Psychologist at Middletown Psychiatric Center, Middletown, NY.  She was formerly a professional musician, accomplished in many instruments and a vocalist of great talent.  She was a spiritual seeker and a member of the Warwick Valley Chorale 

A devoted grandmother, she was called “Nini” by her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Harrington of New Paltz and her children Nicholas, Jacquelyn, Joseph and Paul; her daughter Anne Harrington and her husband Benedetto La Fiura of Sicily;  her son John Harrington of Fredericksburg, VA and his children Kayleigh, Kendall, John and Nolan; and her son William Harrington and his wife Cory of Wanaque, NJ and their children Liam and Beck.  She was predeceased by her stepfather Err Strauch, her stepmother Lily Labauch Strauch, sister Bernadine Phoebes and brother Paul Schultz.

Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, July 2nd, from 12:00-1:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm.
