James G. Graham

James G. Graham, of Warwick, NY, passed away on July 24, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 87 years old.

Born on June 27, 1929 in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late William P. Graham and Mary Kate Hogan.

He was married to Olimpia Binetti Graham.

James served with the US Navy from 1946-50 and was a member of American Legion Post 1443, Greenwood Lake. He retired as a Laborer with IUOE Local 825, Newburgh, NY.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Greenwood Lake for 62 years where he served on the parish council, as a trustee, and an usher. A member of the Greenwood Lake Gaelic Cultural Society for 25 years, he was the Celt of the Year in 1983, and was the 2005 Grand Marshall of the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day Parade. He was a 46 year member of the Greenwood Lake Lions Club and served as president two times.

He is survived by his wife, Olimpia Graham; their children: James Graham and his wife Diane of Port Jervis, John M. Graham and his wife Roseann of Pine Island, John McClean and his wife Denise of Brooklyn, Marguerite Berwick of New Windsor, Maria Callery and her husband Frank of Warwick, and Angela Kukelka and her husband William of Middletown; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Kate, brothers Robert, William and John Graham and his first wife Margaret Supple.

Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, August 13^th, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Church, 41 Windermere Ave., Greenwood Lake, NY 10925.
