Jan Bendykowski

Jan Bendykowski, of Pine Island and formerly of Sugar Loaf and Brooklyn NY, passed away on October 7, 2016 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 59 years young.

Born on June 24, 1957 in Poland, he was the son of the late Czeslaw and Helena (Kaczmarczyk) Bendykowski.

He was married to Regina (Chojnowska) Bendykowski for 37 years. Their love for each other was immense.

Jan was a self employed electronic engineer/inventor/audio video technician.

Jan was a incredible joke and story teller. An intuitive soul, he was the life of the party, and his presence lit up the room. He loved nothing more than being with his family and friends, cooking, entertaining, and watching his sons play music. His hot and sour soup was nothing short of legendary. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and friends with all of his heart. Jan was very proud of his loving children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Regina, of Pine Island; his sons: John Bendykowski and wife Dyan of Milford, PA and Michael Bendykowski and wife Katie of Nyack, NY; his daughter, Michelle Bendykowski of Pine Island; his six grandchildren: Benjamin, Joshua, Cora, Grace, Evalyn and Nathaniel. He is also survived by his brothers Miroslaw, Tadeusz and Waldemar Bendykowski of Poland. He was predeceased by a brother, Roman.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Monday, October 10^th, and Tuesday, October 11^th, at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Stephen Church, Warwick. Interment will be in National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, 654 Ferry Rd., Doylestown, PA.
