After retirement, her family relocated to Warwick, NY, where she became active as a community volunteer, focusing on the needs of senior citizens.  She served on the Office for the Aging Advisory Council and was the Senior Liaison for the Town of Warwick.  She actively campaigned for a Senior Center at the Warwick Town Hall.  Pearl solicited funds to support the bus (Operation Wheels) for senior citizen transportation.  In addition, Pearl served as the past president of the Wednesday Warwick Valley Senior Citizen Club.  She was awarded “Most Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen” in Orange County.  In 2008, she was honored as the Warwick Queen for a Day, as warranted by her volunteer community services.  She was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, past member of the VFW Post 4662 Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 214 Post Auxiliary.
