Stephen Georgalas

Stephen J. Georgalas, of Mahwah, NJ passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024. He was 70 years old.

 

He was born in the Bronx, New York on November 24, 1953. He was the son of Arthur C. and Claire (nee Bourbeau) Georgalas.

 

 Stephen enjoyed nature, especially birds and flowers.  He was an avid reader and artist and enjoyed drawing and coloring cartoon characters from many of the books that he read. Stephen was a gentle soul who loved people and was true to himself being active in the gay community throughout his life.  He will be deeply missed.

 

Stephen is survived by his brother Robert Georgalas of Denmark, his brother Arthur and his wife Kathleen of Warwick NY, and his sister Angela and her husband James Cucinello of Mahwah NJ. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother George and his loving nephew Thomas Georgalas. He leaves behind many nephews and nieces and grandnieces and grandnephews all of whom he loved dearly.

 

A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held in July, date and time to be announced.

 

Donations in remembrance can be made to Warwick Valley Central School District, and mailed to The Thomas Georgalas Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 154, Warwick, NY 10990 (established in memory of Stephen's nephew)
