JEANETTE FRANCES WRIGHT
Jeanette Marulanda and Brian Wright met and fell in love. They had a whirl wind courtship and were married on April 5, 1997 on a beautiful beach in San Juan.
About ten years ago they bought a 170 acre dairy farm.
This was perfect for both Jeanette and Brian; they loved the outdoors and loved to fish, hunt and camp out under the stars and they have always loved animals.
Although she was tiny, she was very strong and worked side by side with Brian. No chore was too tough for her; and, if she heard of anyone in need she was like a Knight on a White Horse galloping to help them. She could put up a new roof, finish a basement, ride a huge John Deere tractor, plow a field and also be as gentle as a kitten.
Brian and Jeanette raised goats for a while and if a baby goat was without its mother or sickly, Jeanette would bring it into the house, cut the sleeve off a sweatshirt and put it on the baby goat like a turtleneck to keep it warm and feed it with a bottle. She had a very gentle, loving touch.
But no doubt about it she was tough and did not like to be coddled. She just wanted to get the tough jobs done without fanfare.
Brian and Jeanette were married for 15 years and, with two adventurous people like Brian and Jeanette, there was never a dull moment.
We will miss seeing Jeanette at the farm and the Adirondacks as she fished and paddled her canoe on the many rivers and streams accompanied by one or two of her beloved dogs.
There were always wonderful, playful adventures when you were with Jeanette; just ask Lisa and her children, Nicole, Dagny and Travis. Brian’s Grandmother, Verna Wright, about 83 years old at the time wanted to spend a night in the barn. She was treated to an overnight stay in the haymow on the second level of the dairy barn. Jeanette surprised everyone by building beds out of bales of hay. There were three levels for our beds. The fortunate group spending a somewhat scary night was Jeanette, her nephew Travis, Brian’s Grandmother Verna Wright, Brian’s Mom & Dad - Jim and Lois, and Brian’s aunt, Nina Wright. Of course, Jeanette, Travis & Jim weren't scared but the rest of us certainly were. It was a real hoot.
Jeanette rode like the wind to Wayne, New Jersey to help her Aunt Lucero when her home was flooded from a hurricane. She removed all the debris and wet sheet rock and paneling from the basement, loaded the debris on her truck & refinished the basement for her Aunt. Of course, the rains & flooding came again and Jeanette was right there to do it all over again. If someone needed help Jeanette was always there.
A very complex, beautiful girl, tender and loving and gentle one minute and tough as nails the next -- that was Jeanette.
She will be sorely missed by her loving husband Brian and her five Keeshond dogs that she loved dearly. She so loved her two Godchildren, seven year old Zachary and four year old Keira; the children of Brian’s sister Nicole and her husband Larry Benzie. She loved playing with them & they loved playing with her.
She was absolutely one-of-a-kind and will be sorely missed by us all.
WE LOVE YOU JEANETTE. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE & WATCH OVER US. GOD BLESS YOU DEAR ONE.
