Margaret “Rita” Fenton of Warwick, NY (formerly of New City, NY, Cooperstown, NY and Stuart, FL), passed away on February 17, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.
Born in Bronx, NY on November 10, 1934, she was the daughter of Mary (McMarrow) and James J. Hayes.
Rita was married to Patrick J. Fenton. They enjoyed spending time with family at their vacation home in Cooperstown where they spent most 46 years with children and grandchildren and at their home in Stuart, FL that they had for 30 years.
Rita is survived by her husband of 62 years, Patrick; children: Patrick Fenton, Jr. and his wife Uschi, James Fenton and his wife Diane, Mary Jean Romano and her husband Rick, Kathleen Eder and her husband Karl, Shawn Fenton and his wife Diane, and Thomas Fenton; 15 grandchildren: Kevin(Kristi) Fenton, Kerstin Fenton, Kerry Fenton, Brian Fenton, Jillian Fenton, Brady Fenton, Ricky Romano, Andrew Romano, Daniel Romano, Maggie Romano, Emily Eder, Brendan Eder, Shawn Fenton, Patrick Fenton, Mark Fenton; and two great-grandchildren, Sam and Luke; and sister, Marie Stock of Queens, NY. She was predeceased by a son, Mark, and daughter, Margaret Fenton.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 7 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at St. Stephen the First Martyr Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick
