
Jean Elizabeth Sartell, 76, homemaker, a lifelong resident of Vernon, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Barn Hill Care Center, Newton, NJ.
She was born in Vernon on January 19, 1937, the only daughter of the late William Predmore and the late Amelia (Luft) Predmore.
She was the wife of Willard Sartell, Sr. and they recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2013.
A family statement reads: She enjoyed going to Tricky Trays, and she found pleasure in watching and knowing the names of birds. When you see a bluebird or a hummingbird, think of Mom. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Say hello to Grandma for us. We would like to thank the nurses and nurse’s aides on the Sparta Hall for their loving care that they gave Mom while she was there.”
Survivors include her husband, Willard, at home; son, Willard Sartell, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Cambridge, NY; daughter, Donna Quackenbush and her husband Darell of Pine Island, NY; daughter, Carol Van Herwynen and her husband John of Montague, NJ; grandchildren: David Sartell and his wife Jeanna of Cambridge, NY, Daniel Sartell and his fiancé Heather Anuszewski of Greenwich, NY. Roy Quackenbush and his wife Kacie of Pine Island, Geoffrey Quackenbush and his wife Brittany of Vernon, NJ, Jonathon, Joseph and Megan Vanherwynen of Montague, NJ; and great-grandchildren: Arianna, Landon, Patrick, Payton and Paige. Also survived by brothers, Clifford Predmore and his wife Wanda of Montague, NJ, Kenneth Predmore and his wife Karen of McAfee, NJ, William Predmore and his wife Janice of Montague, NJ; sister-in-law Judy Predmore of Hainesville, NJ; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special aunt, Clara Henry of Warwick, NY. She was predeceased an infant son, David, and by brothers, Donald Predmore and Warren Predmore.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 5th, from, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood, NJ.
