Jean J. Lauricella, a longtime resident of Warwick (formerly of Florida, NY and Pelham, NY) passed away on March 9, 2016 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. She was 78 years old.
Born on October 21, 1937 in Goshen, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Kocot) Dagele.
She was married to the late Emil C. Richard Lauricella (1971).
Jean was a graduate of Mt. Vernon School of Nursing and loved her career as a nurse. She was formerly employed as a RN with St. Teresa’s Nursing & Rehab Center, Middletown. Jean was an avid UConn Women’s Basketball fan and loved playing scrabble. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them, as well as her granddogs, Bella & Bubba.
She is survived by her children: Mary Ellen Buchheit and her husband John of Ossining, NY, Tina Rudy and her husband Ken of Warwick, and John Lauricella and his wife Margaret of Las Vegas, NV, six grandchildren: Joseph & Julia Buchheit, Kenny & Madeline Rudy and Richard & Ava Lauricella.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 13th, from 3:00 – 8:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday at St. Stephen Church, Warwick, followed by interment in Holy Mount Cemetery, Tuckahoe, NY.
