Nelson S. Gardner, Jr., of Warwick, passed away on January 26, 2013 at home. He was 74 years old.
Born on December 12, 1938 in Ft. Defiance, Arizona, he was the son of the late Nelson S. Gardner, Sr. and Nora (Linscott) Gardner.
He was married for 48 years to Carol (Opper) Gardner.
A Navy veteran, he served from 1956-1962 aboard the USS Forrestal. He was an Electrical Engineer with Orange & Rockland, Spring Valley, NY for 37 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Warwick; a son, Christopher Gardner and his wife Heather of Warwick; a daughter, Amy Gardner Patino and her husband Anthony of Airmont, NY; a grandson, Daniel Gardner of Warwick; and a sister, Eleanor Fitzgerald of Meridian, Idaho.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
