a lifetime resident of Amity, NY, entered into rest to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at home. He was 87 years old.
Born on September 15, 1920 in Linden, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Michael and Sophia Wainiak Holodinski.
He was married to Gwendolyn Masker Holodinski.
A family statement read: “Mike was a loving husband who loved being with his family and he enjoyed his farm animals. He will be missed greatly.”
A World War II Army/Air Corps veteran, he was a retired dairy farmer and enjoyed working on the farm with his son and family. Mike was a charter member of the Amity Fire Company, Orange County Fire Police, and was a long-time member of the Amity Presbyterian Church. He was an avid bowler, a big Mets fan and loved airplanes.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gwendolyn (Masker) Holodinski; his daughters: Deborah Smith and her husband John, Cindy O’Neill and her husband John, Gail Williamsen and her husband Mark, Carole Linton and her husband Jim, and Brenda Faulls and her husband Rob; his son, Michael, all of Warwick. He is also survived by his grandchildren: John, Sandy, Stacey, Erica, Sara, Stephanie, Amanda, Robert and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a sister, Mary Ballard, of Warwick. He was predeceased by three brothers: Peter, Rev. John and George.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 6th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral Home. Rev. Duncan Trueman will officiate. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
