Elvira Sheppard of Warwick, NY, formerly of Manhattan, NY, passed away at home after a brief illness on March 11, 2019. She was 90 years old.

Vera as those who knew and loved her called her, was born in New York City on February 19, 1929 to the late Gaetano and Mary (Taussi) Coluccio.

Prior to retirement, she was an Administrative Assistant for HIP Health Insurance in NYC.

Vera is survived by her daughter, Joyce Sheppard; daughter-in-law Sophia McField; grandson Spencer McField-Sheppard; her first cousins Brian and Christa and their families, and many other cousins as well. She was predeceased by her husband, John Sheppard and sister Marie Leszcz.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 1911 Union Valley Road, Hewitt, NJ, followed by interment in Gate of Heaven, Hawthorne, NY.
