Margaret Jane Kelly, 77, of Holland, MI (formerly of Warwick, NY) passed away September 15, 2014 in Holland, MI, in the company of her loving family.
A beloved mother, grandmother and sister, she was born April 17, 1937 in Yonkers, New York to Henry Haas and Muriel (Strang) Haas.
She served in the U.S. Air Force at Ramstein AB, GE & McGuire AFB, NJ as an Inflight Passenger Specialist, traveling extensively abroad transporting military troops and US dignitaries from 1955 to 1958. She went on to earn a BA in English Literature from Mercy College and worked at the former Mid-Orange Correctional Facility as an educator, teaching inmates to read and write.
Margaret was predeceased by her brother, Henry J. Haas, and her daughter Teresa (Kelly) Scharf, and her former husband, John P. Kelly.
She is survived by her son, Joseph J. Kelly of Manchester, NH; and her daughters: Nancy Kelly (Donald) Driscoll of Warwick, NY, and Carolyn Kelly (Nick) Ryberg of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She is also survived by her sister Patricia Rector of Hackettstown, NJ. Margaret leaves behind many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Stephen Church, Warwick. Burial will be private.
