Carmela Isabel Mariano of Warwick, NY, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2023, at Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. She was 84 years old.
Born in New York City on January 6, 1939, she was the daughter of Pasquale and Marie (nee Sarubbi) Mariano.
Carmela was a clerk for Verizon in New York City. She was an active member and Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Church in Queens, NY. She liked music and attending the New York City ballet. She was an active participant in many activities at Mt. Alverno Center and was a reader for church services at the chapel there. Carmela seemed to always be in a good mood and shared her positive attitude with all she came in contact with. She made many friends at Mt. Alverno whom she cherished.
Carmela is survived by her sister, Nancy McCaffrey of Warwick, NY and was predeceased by her brother-in-law, John McCaffrey in 2017.
The family will receive friends for viewing on Thursday, February 16th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. At the conclusion of visitation, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen the First Martyr Church, 75 Sandfordville Road, Warwick, with interment following the Mass in Warwick Cemetery.
