Miss Dorothy Wing McReynolds, of Warwick, passed away on October 17, 2011 at Northern Riverview Nursing Home, Haverstraw. She was 91 years old.
Born on April 16, 1920 in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late Commander Robert Wing McReynolds, Jr., USN, and Dorothy Claire MacRae of New York.
A resident of Orange County for more than 30 years, Dorothy was retired as a Secretary from the US Army at Governor’s Island. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (Minisink Chapter), and of the Warwick Historical Society and she served as a docent for many years at the 1810 House. In addition, she volunteered at St. Anthony’s Hospital. She was a member of the Brooklyn Junior League and Brooklyn Kindergarten Society. While a resident at Mt. Alverno Center, she served as President of the Resident Council.
Dorothy is survived by her sister, Mrs. David H. Bush of Warwick; a nephew, David MacRae Bush of New Orleans; a niece, Elizabeth Bush-Bollich of New Orleans, and
a niece, Cornelia Wendell Bush of Warwick.
Funeral arrangements are with Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY 10990. The funeral will be private with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York.
