Kenneth A. Sinsabaugh, a lifetime resident of Warwick, passed away on August 19, 2019, shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. He was 61 years old.
Born March 28, 1958 in Warwick to the late John A. and Theresa C. Sinsabaugh, he was one of four children.
Ken graduated from Warwick Valley High School, Class of 1976. He was a retired Sergeant for the NYS Corrections Department, having worked at Mid-Orange Correctional Facility for 30 years. He was proud of achieving the rank of Sergeant and earned the nickname “Sarge” by his co-workers. He was a volunteer in the Warwick Fire Department for many years.
Those who knew and loved Kenny (aka “Tigger”) knew that he was a loving, generous-to-a-fault guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He was a humble man and a fun person to be around who enjoyed riding his Harley and fishing in Cape Cod. He was your friend through thick and thin, always willing to lend a hand. There were times in his battle with bipolar disease that he was not himself, but even then he loved us all dearly – and did so until the day he died.
Kenny is survived by his brother, John; two sisters, Nancy Baird and her husband Al Dominguez of Sarasota, FL and Terry Mercurio and her husband John of Cape Coral, FL; nieces and nephews, Jennifer(Steve), Jessica(Mike), Jack(Momo), Joey, Jamie, and John-Michael; several grandnieces and grandnephews; aunts, Jean Cahill, Joan Putnam and Rose Egan; and many cousins.
Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, August 25 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.
In Kenny’s memory, be a good friend; stick with your friends through the hard times, even when it is hard to do; show them that you care before it’s too late.
