Boosung Park of Greenwood Lake, NY, passed away at St. Anthony Community Hospital on Sunday, May 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 79 years old.
Born in Seoul, Korea, Boosung, known to his friends as Bryan, left his home to study Engineering in the US. However, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to the world of small business, where he opened and operated many businesses in and around New York City, including a wig shop, a variety of restaurants and delis, a business brokerage, and a dry cleaner. Bryan’s professional life was marked by great highs, his business acumen was keen, and many of his ideas were truly ahead of their time.
Prior to enjoying a peaceful retirement as a resident of Greenwood Lake, Boosung raised his loving family in Bridgewater, NJ and New York City.
Boosung is survived by his wife, Haesun Choi; son Bernard Park, his wife JoAnn and their children Lawrence and William; daughter Debbie Park-Jang, her husband Paul, and their children Avery, Maya, and Russell, all of NYC. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Soohee Park (nee Shin).
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2024, beginning at 11AM, at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A brief service will be held at noon, and interment will immediately follow in Warwick Cemetery.
